At Cook & Waiter, we know the best events don’t just happen – they build momentum. It starts with a vision, finds its footing in the right venue, and comes to life through food, drinks and service that set the tone from the very first arrival cocktail to the final farewell.
For us, hospitality is the energy that connects it all. A dramatic industrial warehouse calls for bold, theatrical dining moments. A heritage harbourside space invites something more refined and relaxed. Every venue has its own rhythm, and our role is to tune into it – shaping experiences that feel seamless, sociable and completely at home in their surroundings.
As hospitality partner to some of Sydney’s landmark venues, we’re constantly inspired by the spaces we work within: soaring CBD landmarks, raw industrial shells, heritage wharves and design-led contemporary settings. Each one offers a different starting point for storytelling through food, service and guest experience.
Whether it’s a luxury gala dinner, creative brand activation, corporate conference or intimate celebration, we believe the most memorable events happen when vision, venue and hospitality move in sync – creating something guests don’t just attend but genuinely feel part of.

Machine Hall
Located in Sydney’s CBD, this converted substation balances industrial inner-city heritage features with a more futuristic, design-led edge, immediately setting an event tone: bold, high energy and creative.
Soaring ceilings and an interconnected mezzanine, main hall and vault space – the latter morphing into a hidden speakeasy-style bar – make this bold architectural venue the ideal blank canvas for brand activations, creative conferences, luxury dinners, cocktail receptions and car launches.
As Machine Hall’s hospitality partner for corporate events and venue catering, the dramatic physical space provides the perfect minimalist backdrop to spotlight our culinary creativity.

The evocative backdrop allows our event catering at Carriageworks to become a natural sensory extension of the space: considered, responsive and designed to support the scale and ambition of every brief.
